Urgent Skin Care
“Their skin looks like this offstage?” Emergency skin care for active idols

Idols’ skin always looks flawless onstage. In reality, however, they battle daily skin emergencies. It is simply hidden from view: regeneration patches, soothing ampoules and sheet masks are standard supplies in dressing rooms and backstage. With music shows, fan signings, commercial shoots, concerts and overseas schedules following one another, their faces inevitably endure makeup residue, hot lights and insufficient sleep. In short, their skin has no time to breathe. Commonly mentioned concerns include acne, heat-related redness, dryness, blotchy irritation and sudden red pimples.
Yet this skin rarely appears in public. Why? Because idols diligently follow secret routines for quick, discreet recovery. These routines also include everyday care habits. Many idols have shared ways of restoring irritated skin themselves on YouTube or television. For example, fromis_9’s Lee Chaeyoung said that when breakouts begin, she uses just one moisturizer with ingredients mild enough for children instead of piling on multiple products. aespa’s Karina said she always places a fresh towel over her pillow at bedtime to reduce friction on her skin.
These small everyday habits certainly help recovery. But the real solutions are dermatological procedures that can show effects within 24 hours. Between appointments, on the morning of a performance or the night before a fan signing, procedures that can be done briefly and discreetly are widely used for emergency care.

Emergency procedures idols receive between performances
1) LDM: an ultrasound soothing treatment for heat, redness and internal dryness. Intense lighting and thick stage makeup generate heat in the skin and stimulate sebum production. Skin then develops irritation accompanied by warmth and redness. LDM is a device-based procedure using micro-ultrasound to improve moisture movement within the skin and encourage soothing. It causes almost no irritation, and makeup can be applied immediately afterward. It is excellent for preventing makeup from sitting poorly and restoring skin to a manageable condition. It is often used the day before fan meetings or broadcasts.
2) Shining Rejuran: the standard for barrier recovery and damage repair. Repeated makeup two or three times daily, prolonged mask wearing and insufficient sleep make skin thin and sensitive. Shining Rejuran injects salmon DNA-derived PN, or polynucleotide, into the dermis to encourage the skin’s own regeneration. In addition to tone and elasticity, it improves blotchy redness, rough texture and fine wrinkles together. Repeated treatment particularly produces visibly firmer, thicker texture, creating skin that can recover even after a setback.
3) Excel V: heat-related redness, spots and breakout marks in one treatment. This laser specializes in vascular and pigmented lesions and is often used in crises when the face does not seem presentable—just before fan signings, the day before editorial shoots or the early morning of a performance. When inflammation or blotchy redness develops, Excel V precisely targets and soothes dilated vessels, pigmentation and capillaries with 532 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths. There is almost no post-treatment redness, and a clearly more refined skin appearance develops within a day. It is particularly suitable for idols with thin skin.
4) Silky Pore Injection: immediate recovery of radiance. As its name suggests, this injection makes skin silky, using a combination of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids and peptides. Its hallmark is natural textural radiance visible on camera rather than excessive shine. It absorbs faster than ordinary skin-hydration injections and effectively improves texture without wrinkles or hollows. It is recommended when radiant skin is needed quickly, particularly before high-definition filming.
✈️ Are there special skin-emergency measures for overseas schedules?
In fact, idols prepare alternatives to clinic visits when their skin deteriorates during overseas performances or schedules. Steroid ointment prescribed under guidance, soothing ampoules and rich moisturizers are typical essentials. Sheet masks during travel, and gel creams and cooling masks aboard aircraft, are routine basics. They also carry home radiofrequency devices or vibrating massagers, repeatedly emphasizing soothing routines to compensate for irregular sleep. Their onstage skin is therefore never accidental. Quick judgment in emergencies, suitable procedure selection and technology that can stand in for a routine: perfect stage-ready skin is achieved when these three elements come together.
